Before you begin, you need to make sure you have sufficient SMS Balance, and an approved Sender ID.
What is a sender ID ?:
A Sender ID serves as a label on recipients’ phones, indicating the source of the SMS. It can be your Brand Name or Company Name not more than 11 characters.
Only Alphabets, numbers, spaces, - . _ ' and + are allowed.
To request a sender ID, head to the Menu >Sender IDs >Request New, and request a new one with the form as seen below; (Our Sender IDs are free and don’t Expire)
Once you have your Sender ID approved, you can begin to send SMS with it. In this guide, we will be looking at how to send Quick SMS
What is Quick SMS? This is a type of message-sending option that allows you to quickly and instantly enter a few phone numbers (up to 100) and send an SMS to them with your BRAND NAME as the Sender ID.
Below are the steps that are involved in sending Quick SMS.
1. Sender ID Selection:
– Dropdown Select: Choose your preferred sender ID from the approved and available options. In this guide, we will be using “STAR TECH” to demonstrate.
– Request New “Link”: Click to request a new Sender ID if you don’t have one.
2. Country Code:
– Default Country: Ghana (+233) is pre-selected.
– Other countries could be made available for selection if you request to send SMS outside of Ghana as well.
– Manual Input: means you will enter phone numbers with their respective country codes, starting each number without the initial + and zero (0).
3. Recipient(s):
– Enter or Paste Contacts: Input up to 100 contacts maximum for Quick SMS.
– Total Recipients Counter: This displays the total number of entered contacts.
4. Select How You Separated Contacts:
– Choose how contacts you entered are separated (comma or new line).
5. SMS Template (Optional) & Message Text Box:
An SMS template is a pre-designed text message used as a blueprint for sending consistent and structured SMS. It saves time and ensures a professional and uniform communication style. To save a message as a template, head to Menu >SMS Templates >Add New
– Select Template: Choose from existing/saved templates. (Selected template message content can be modified before sending).
– Message:
If you do not have a template or you selected a saved template, you can modify it in the message box or type a new message.
– Character Counter: This displays the remaining characters out of the active SMS part.
6. Mobile Preview Button – Optional (Desktop only):
– Preview Button: Click to view a mobile overview of exactly how your branded message will appear on recipients’ phones. after that click the red X to close the preview
7. Click Send & Proceed:
– Send Button: Click to initiate the sending process.
– Pop-up Overview: Provides a pop-up overview of the number of recipients and the length of the message.
– Proceed Button: Click to proceed and finalize the sending process.
8. Reports:
– Sent Messages: After sending, you can check the status of your messages by navigating to Menu >Reports >Sent Messages. This section provides details on the delivery status and other relevant information.
